My Sailor Dad is the first book in the Patriot Kids series. A Navy pilot himself, Ross H. Mackenzie began the series by discussing and presenting the service he knows best. The book was published in 2008 by High Pitched Hum Publishing.

Norfolk Station WTKR Kicks Off "Mission Monday" With My Sailor Dad

 
Author, Ross Mackenzie, recently read My Sailor Dad to the children of the service men and women on the USS Albany, to help them better understand why their moms and dads must sometimes be away from home. WTKR Television in Norfolk was on hand, and aired their report during their debut of "Mission Monday," a news segment dedicated to those serving in the military.
